This is stated in the appeal of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy to entrepreneurs.
The organization stated that the installation of POS-terminals in accordance with the law” on protection of consumer rights“, and in accordance with the law” on e-commerce", providing consumers with the opportunity to make electronic payments belongs to the direct duties of taxpayers. At the same time, the right of the tax authority to conduct operational tax control measures to control these cases and identify cases of refusal to accept cashless payments at facilities where the installation of POS-terminals is mandatory.
"Tax control measures have been strengthened in this direction, as the above-mentioned cases are still ongoing, despite the warnings made repeatedly and the information work carried out. The State Tax Service once again brings to the attention of business entities that financial sanctions are applied for non-installation of POS-terminals in objects with mandatory installation of POS-terminals and refusal to accept non-cash payments in objects with POS-terminals installed in the calendar year in the 1st time of such cases 1 000 Manats, in the 2nd time of such cases 3 000 Manats,
In this regard, entrepreneurs are advised to accept non-cash payments only through POS-terminals, according to the requirements of the legislation, in order to avoid financial sanctions provided for by the tax code. At the same time, the State Tax Service calls on citizens to make non-cash payments when purchasing goods, works and services not through card – to-card transfer operations, but only by requesting a POS-terminal,” the appeal said.
